New response notifications

Get an email when someone completes your survey, and how to turn it on or off.

Surbee can email you when someone finishes one of your surveys, so you don't have to keep checking the dashboard.

What the email contains

The email goes to the address on your Surbee account. It includes:

  • The survey's name.
  • How many responses the survey has in total.
  • When the response was received.
  • A button to open your responses, and a link to the survey's settings.

The email never includes anyone's answers. To read them, open the survey's Insights page.

Responses that arrive close together

If a lot of people answer at once, you won't get an email for each one. When a response arrives within 10 minutes of the previous one, it doesn't send its own email. The next email you get shows the updated total, so you can see how many came in since.

Turn response emails on or off

The setting is per survey, so you can keep emails on for one survey and off for another.

  1. Open the survey.
  2. Click the Settings icon at the top of the page.
  3. Choose Responses.
  4. Switch Email me about new responses on or off.
  5. Click Save changes.

Response emails are on by default for new surveys.

Get notified in Slack instead

If your team works in Slack, you can have Surbee post to a channel for every response, or only for responses Cipher flags. Slack messages include the Cipher score, so you can see data quality at a glance. See Slack notifications to set it up.

A Slack-connected survey can also receive an alert when its results change sharply from one week to the next. See Recaps, reports and change alerts.
