Slack notifications
Get a Slack message for new responses and Cipher fraud alerts.
Connect a survey to a Slack channel and Surbee posts there whenever a response
comes in. Each message shows the survey, the Cipher risk score, how many
questions were answered, and when it was submitted, with a View responses
button. Flagged responses also list the reasons they were flagged. Slack
notifications are available on every plan, including Free.
Connect with one click
- Open Settings, then the Connectors tab, and click Connect next
to Slack.
- Under Add a connection, choose the Survey you want to connect.
- Under Notify me about, choose Every response or Only
Cipher-flagged responses.
- Click Add to Slack, pick a channel, and click Allow.
You come back to Surbee with the connection listed under Connected
surveys. Click the send icon on it to post a test message and check the
channel.
Each connection links one survey to one Slack channel. Add another connection
for each extra survey.
Choosing what to send
- Every response. A message for each completed response.
- Only Cipher-flagged responses. Only the suspicious ones, so the channel
stays quiet until something needs attention.
Managing connections
Under Connected surveys, each connection has controls to:
- Switch between Every response and Flagged only.
- Pause notifications, then Resume them later.
- Send a test message.
- Remove the connection.
Use a webhook URL instead
If you would rather not install the Surbee app in your workspace, click Paste
a webhook URL manually instead.
- In Slack's app settings, choose Create New App, then From scratch,
and pick a name and your workspace.
- Open Incoming Webhooks in the sidebar and turn it on.
- Click Add New Webhook to Workspace, choose the channel, and click
Allow.
- Copy the webhook URL and paste it into Slack webhook URL in Surbee. You
can add an optional Channel label to recognise it later.
- Click Send test to check it, then Add connection.
