This policy explains how Surbee uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep the service running, remember your preferences, measure usage, and keep the platform secure, and how you can control them.
This Cookie & Tracking Policy explains how Surbee uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and in our product, what each category is used for, and how you can control them. It works alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information more broadly.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use related technologies that work in similar ways:
- Local storage and session storage: store preferences and keep you signed in
- Pixels and tags: measure whether a page or email was viewed
- Device and browser signals: help us keep the platform secure and detect fraud
We refer to all of these collectively as "cookies" in this policy.
We group cookies into four categories, matching the controls in our cookie banner:
- Essential: required for the site to function, such as authentication, security, load balancing, and remembering your consent choices. These are always on and do not require consent.
- Preferences: remember your settings and personalization choices so the product behaves the way you like.
- Analytics: used for internal research on how people use Surbee so we can improve it. These assess how you interact with our website.
- Marketing: used to deliver personalized content and measure the effectiveness of campaigns.
On our public website, we only set non-essential cookies (Preferences, Analytics, and Marketing) after you give consent through our cookie banner.
- When you first visit, you can choose "Accept all" or open "Customize" to toggle each category individually.
- Your choices are stored locally on your device so we can honor them on future visits.
- You can change your decision at any time by clearing the stored consent in your browser, which will bring the banner back.
- You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may break parts of the service.
We use platform-level analytics from our hosting provider, Vercel, along with our own internal measurement, to understand aggregate usage, performance, and reliability. This data helps us find and fix problems and decide what to build next. Where required, this processing only happens after you consent to Analytics cookies.
Some cookies are set by third parties that help us run the service. These providers may set their own cookies subject to their own policies:
- Vercel: hosting, performance, and analytics
- Stripe: payment processing and fraud prevention
- Supabase: authentication and session management
We do not control third-party cookies and recommend reviewing those providers' privacy policies for details.
When someone completes a survey built on Surbee, we may use essential cookies and integrity signals to keep the survey working correctly and to support fraud detection. Survey creators are responsible for disclosing any additional tracking they choose to add to their own surveys.
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common industry standard for how to interpret these signals, we currently rely on the cookie consent controls described above rather than responding to Do Not Track. We will update this policy if a consistent standard is adopted.
We may update this Cookie & Tracking Policy as our technologies or legal obligations change. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above.
