How sections, blocks, the block picker, reordering and the AI chat panel work in the survey editor.
How sections, blocks, the block picker, reordering and the AI chat panel work in the survey editor.
The editor has two halves. On the left is the chat with Surbee's AI. On the right is your survey, laid out as one long form you can edit directly.
A survey is split into sections. Each section is one page for your respondents: they answer the questions on it, then move on to the next.
Each section after the first has a menu (the three dots next to its label) with Duplicate section, Remove section, Move section up, Move section down and Add branching. Branching is covered in Logic and branching.
Everything in a survey is a block: a question, a paragraph of text, a custom code embed.
The new block appears directly below the one you selected. On an empty section the picker is already open, so you can add the first block right away.
Question types describes what each question collects.
Click into a question to edit its wording and options in place. When a question is selected, a bar at the bottom of it shows the settings that apply to it:
Hover over a block to see its actions on the right: Duplicate, Delete, Move up and Move down. You can also drag a block by its handle to a new position in the same section.
Made a mistake? Press Cmd+Z (Ctrl+Z on Windows) to undo and Cmd+Shift+Z to redo.
The view menu in the top bar switches between Form, the editor described here, and Flow, a map of your sections as connected cards. In Flow, double-click a card to open that section. Press Cmd+1 for Form and Cmd+2 for Flow. Press ? at any time to see the keyboard shortcuts.
The chat on the left can build and change your survey for you. Type a request such as "Add a consent page at the start" and send it. Use Hide chat to give the survey more room, and Show AI chat to bring it back.
The control in the chat box sets how much Surbee does without checking with you:
New accounts start on Ask first. Surbee remembers your choice on this browser. With a prompt waiting, Cmd+Enter continues and Cmd+Shift+Delete cancels.
