How do I create an ending page?

Add a final section with no questions to thank respondents in your own words, with your own styling.

When someone finishes your survey, you can show them your own ending page instead of Surbee's standard completion screen. Use it to thank people, explain what happens next or point them to more information.

How Surbee recognises an ending page

If the last section of your survey has no questions in it, Surbee treats it as the survey's ending page. There is no setting to turn on. A section counts as an ending page when:

  • it is the last section, and
  • it contains only content such as Paragraph text, headings or images, and no question blocks.

Your survey needs at least two sections for this to apply.

What respondents see

  1. On the section before the ending page, the button says Submit instead of Next.
  2. When the respondent submits, their response is saved straight away.
  3. They are taken to your ending page, which shows with no navigation buttons, so there is nothing left to click.

Because the response is submitted before the ending page appears, your thank-you message is always true when they read it.

A button you added that opens a link still shows on the ending page, so you can send people on to your website or another resource.

Create one

  1. Click Insert under the last block of your survey and choose Section. A new section is added at the end.
  2. Give the section a title, for example "Thank you".
  3. Add a Paragraph text block with your message.

Or ask Surbee's AI: "Add an ending page that thanks people and says results will be shared next month."

Ideas for your message

  • Thank people for their time.
  • Say what you will do with the answers and when.
  • Give a contact for questions, or a link to a related resource.
  • For research, repeat how to withdraw and who to contact.

When the ending page is skipped

A few settings replace your ending page with Surbee's completion screen:

  • Redirect URL. If you set a redirect, respondents see a short Response Submitted screen and are then sent to your link.
  • Show score to respondent. If scoring is on and respondents are shown their score, the completion screen shows the score instead. See Quizzes and scoring.

Without an ending page

If your last section has questions on it, respondents see Surbee's completion screen after they submit. It says Response Submitted with the message "Thank you for completing this survey!"

Ending early

A branching rule with the End survey action submits the response and takes the respondent to your ending page too. See Logic and branching.
