Machine Learning Engineer

As a Machine Learning Engineer at Surbee, you will build and refine the AI systems that power our survey generation, fraud detection, and conversational analytics features. You'll develop models that understand research context, generate domain-specific survey questions, detect fraudulent responses in real-time, and extract meaningful insights from unstructured data. Your work will directly impact data quality for thousands of research projects. We're looking for engineers who can bridge the gap between research and production, turning ML ideas into reliable, scalable systems. What you'll do: • Develop and improve ML models for natural language understanding and generation • Build and optimize the Cipher fraud detection pipeline • Design evaluation frameworks and monitor model performance in production • Collaborate with product engineers to integrate ML capabilities into the platform • Stay current with ML research and identify opportunities to apply new techniques What we're looking for: • 3+ years of experience in applied machine learning • Strong foundation in NLP, classification, and anomaly detection • Experience deploying ML models to production at scale • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with TypeScript • Published research or significant open-source contributions are a plus
